How we review NordVPN

What this site is

NordVPN Reviews is an independent review aggregator. We are not NordVPN and we don't work for them. Our goal is simple: collect what real users say about NordVPN across the platforms where they post it, then organize it so you can make an informed decision in a few minutes instead of an afternoon.

Where the reviews come from

We aggregated 89 published reviews across 4 platforms. We did not write, edit, or solicit any of them. Every review is the words of a real NordVPN user, quoted from its original source:

• Trustpilot· More than 50,000 written NordVPN reviews. NordVPN invites customers to review, so most recent reviews are invited.
• App Store· Ratings for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac app from the US App Store. The written reviews run more critical than the star average.
• Google Play· Ratings for the Android and Android TV app from Google Play, the largest rating pool. NordVPN replies to most critical reviews.
• Capterra· Detailed reviews with pros and cons from people who name their job. GetApp and Software Advice show the same reviews.

NordVPN averages 4.6 across 2.1 million ratings on four platforms. The reviews on this site are a hand-picked snapshot of that corpus, chosen to reflect its recurring themes, critical reviews included.

How we score and tag

Each review is tagged by sentiment (positive, mixed, or critical) and by audience (travel & streaming or security & privacy or work & everyday), so you can filter to the perspective that matches you. The verdict score on the homepage is the count-weighted average of the platforms' own public ratings, using the counts listed above. Our snapshot skews toward written and critical reviews on purpose, so its plain average (3.8/5) can run lower than the platform-wide figure. Neither number is made up, and neither is weighted to flatter the product.

The sentiment scores on the homepage are the average star rating, out of 10, of the reviews shown here that discuss each topic.

Review lists open sorted by "Most relevant": detailed, recent reviews that describe what NordVPN did for the writer come first, drawn from a mix of platforms, and the critical ones come after. Switch the sort to Newest, Highest rating, or Lowest rating, or filter to Critical, to read them in another order. The order never changes the averages above, which count every review we show.

Why we publish critical reviews

A review site that only shows praise isn't a review site. We include the negative reviews on purpose: the billing complaints, the support frustrations, the edge-case bugs, all verbatim and unedited. Balance is the entire point. It's what lets you trust the positive reviews too.
