Very useful! - I am using a device where I require an OS level VPN access at all times, but need to test via other locations. The Firefox Nord VPN Add-on allows me to double tunnel. Quick and easy to setup!

The work that NordVPN software developers do is no easy work. You guys do your best to ensure that no matter where a person is on the face of the planet, the possibility of accessing different libraries of services provided all around the world is but a reality and is a reality that can be made manifested by the toggle of a button. I simply wish that the connectivity to certain other servers will get much better, but at this rate, I'm not too worried about that. Keep up the great work, NordVPN!

Quick and easy! I use this one all the time. Noticed a few (very few) dropouts now and then, but it is seldom. NordVPN's app is already quite userfriendly, but this extension makes it even easier to use.

I've been using this company for encryption of my web traffic to keep it safer from threat actors (bad guys) (for those that would steal money or personal information) and so far in the 2 years I've used it no complaints at all. Highly recommend for personal protection.

I want to start out by saying that if you have been shopping VPNs and you have looked at what Nord offers and are aware of what it offers and its strengths and weaknesses as a VPN are then that is excluded from the rest of what I'll be talking about. For an extension, this works exactly as I want it too. Auto connect on, split tunneling, the works. It isn't slow, and it isn't killing the bank, so its great as an extension. Even the add blocker is pretty great, not as great as other extensions but it is a nice add on. Basically, if you take the time with this extension it is great. Again, I'm not reviewing the VPN service (although I do like it as well). This is strictly the extension I am reviewing.

Works great on my linux desktop, I have no problem connecting to my dedicated IP, killswitch and all the rest of the features works just fine. I would recommend for sure.

I've been using the app since it began, and only 3 months ago started using the extension. Like Nordpass, it just works. It's as close to perfect as one will find, and for the price, it's a steal. To top it off, their support is prompt and they know their stuff. Can't ask much more. Keep up the good work fellas.

This extension always works as expected. I use it on several different devices and no longer travel the net without it. Ever. It takes me where I want to go and keeps me protected while I'm there. The support technicians are very knowledgeable and helpful. Always. A great product.

I usually use the "auto connect" option. It works (debian 12.5) as it should. But I would like a browser add-on to be able to a) know that the connection is established; b) disable and enable the connection on a system-wide (not just browser) level.

For awhile the extension wouldnt connect on PC with pre installed software (firewall and such) preventing it but now after a new update to the extension i've been able to connect my nordvpn. Please continue optimizing the extension so it keeps connecting in the future as well.

Have been using this browser extension om my PC and Android phone for over a year and have no issues to complain about. Besides doing what it is suppose to, there are no negative side effects of using it. Obviously, there is no such thing as the 'perfect' VPN. However, this app is updated on a fairly regular basis, showing that it is constantly being improved. I will certainly recommend.

I used to think lesser was better, but the nordVPN browser extension allows split tunneling for websites in a very convenient way that more than compensates the loss of performance if your machine can handle it, compared to just using the desktop app.

Honestly not sure what all the one-star reviews are about. I have NordVPN as one of my VPNs, as I alternate with Mullvad VPN. Nord does a fantastic job, man. If you don't know how to set it up with Firefox privacy settings and uBlock Origin, just don't use it and know that your going to be vulnerable to prying eyes. Don't give one-star reviews to good software because you can't figure it out.

I wasn't going to download the extension at first, but I'm glad I did. For whatever reason, split tunneling doesn't seem to work right with the NordVPN windows 11 app, so using the extension works out really well.

Extension works great. There is new "Private Window" permission, but it understandable since Firefox is designed like this. It is stated in Firefox extension API documentation site that: CHANGING PROXY SETTINGS REQUIRES PRIVATE BROWSING WINDOW ACCESS BECAUSE PROXY SETTINGS AFFECT PRIVATE AND NON-PRIVATE WINDOWS.

VPN is fast; Ad-blocker is good; but they can't justify the price. Nevertheless, the overall product is great. It's just it'd be better if it was cheaper.

Works absolutely wonderful! VPN works just as intended, and Ad Blocker works decent. Have definitely noticed faster web browser during use! Worth the payed service.

Works like a charm. The connections are super fast, at least to Germany and the USA. I haven't tested other countries yet.

Easy to use extension and happy it has good UI/UX experience.

The only bad thing about this is that websites are starting to block VPNS but at that point I stop using the site

NordVPN has really good customer service. That's one of the reasons I'm a customer of theirs. The Firefox extension is pretty much bug-free and has enough features to suit the way I use my browser. It's also not a drag on my browser response. All in all, it's a great little gadget.

Seems very fast and efficient, and I'd say less clunky than using the Nord application. Which is fine if you mostly use Firefox as your browser of choice.

I paid over $100 for expressvpn under the assumption that it would work with linux distros.. beware it doesn't work for any arch-linux distro! Nordvpn has worked flawlessly for me and I'm glad as a linux user that I spent the money on it

My review is being written BEFORE reading any others, which is the way it should be done. I was drawn to the many reasons why a VPN is so valuable. I'm particularly bothered by the Google analytics and frankly feel violated. On the other hand, I find some value in bits of that data that help me re-create that period of time that I might have been sending messages, searching and/or driving somewhere. It jogs my memory. So, I'm really just a part-time user. Honestly, I do so much to protect my computer(s) and to keep my family safe from the millions of threats that exist that it has sapped any real joy the WWW might bring me. As for my satisfaction, having one more thing slowing my browsing experience down is a PITA. Thus the 4 and not 5 stars. I am fully satisfied with NordVPN even if I have no way to confirm that it is making a difference. Is it better or worse than its competitors? IDK.

it was very helpful to have a brower plugin and i didn't knew it existed. Download was around 1M/s, suitable for my tasks. Not as fast as with the App, but ok. i'm using NordVPN on Desktop and Mobile since 3 years and never regret. Thanks to the team

From time to time the addon is logged off from my account and as the addon is always connected to a vpn server I am unable to open any websites. The addon will keep trying to connect to a vpn server and fail because is no longer authenticated. When it logs off the addon window change and it only shows the login button, without the option to disconnect. The only way to fix is to remove the addon and install it back.

The plugin is pretty nice for when I don't want all programs running through an app. I would like for an option to auto-renew connection to a new address though because it gets annoying for some sites like google to constantly ask if you're a robot.

Very useful and a good addition to the desktop application. Easy to use and pleasant interface. However, whatever the setting, it doesn't work in China, even when following all the instructions before going there and whilst there. Hence, 4 stars only.

Usually great, but it depends on the day. Maybe it's the servers or something else entirely, but when it happens it just shits the bed. Otherwise perfect! It even has split tunneling!

I have used this add-on for three years. There were times when it didn't work that well, was too unstable. Since a few months everything is working fine with no glitches. I hope it stays like this in the future.

I'd had it both on my PC and my TV for years with little to no problem. Good investment although it took me a while to work out what I was being charged for as my creditcard didn't say the payment was from NordVPN.

It's OK as extension, but in the desktop version is more robust and surely much more secure since the "kill switch" runs all the time in the background as a service of the system. Thus... in case of any interruption or break of the VPN then instantly internet connection is cut-off. No way for your real IP to be exposed. Obviously it is a paid VPN because nothing real good is for free.

Only been using it for a week now but, so far, it has been flawless. I'm used to having to manually connect to VPNs but having this extension do it automatically means I don't have to think about it. I'm also really impressed with speed. I'm not noticing any slowdown or lag with any of my traffic.....really liking it so far.

Added this to Firefox running on Linux Cinnamon Mint 22, mainly as it's a bit fiddly with no GUI as a standalone. Been running Nord for a long time on everything else, Windows, Firesticks etc. Early days, but so far the extension works as expected with no problems

The addons works for me better than the app. windows sometimes be late when tunrning off the connection but not 1 problem with this

This VPN is very practical and almost transparent through Firefox. You can choose the country you're logging in, which is quite useful considering the different rules of censorship existing in theses countries.

I have been using Nord for years, Linux, windows and has only gotten better. I will not use any other VPN. it's not smart to just go and get whatever VPN "looks good" you must remember that any logs that are kept on American soil can and will legally be handed over to the federal government. Nord is the answer to that.

Works great, very convenient to have it straight in the browser. Has some unique features that the app doesn't offer either, such as the timezone spoofing which is nice.

Have used it for a long time now. Works really good, very few issues compared to the nightmare I have had with Express VPN, corrupting my system.

Excelent, both VPN and this Extension. To be better yet, add some configuration settings like "Split tunneling" as you do in the Chrome extension.

While it's possible to use it in tandem with the Desktop app via split tunneling, the overall experience is frustrating. Unlike the full version, the Firefox version suffers from intentionally slow speeds (with "a cap of 100 Mbps set on squid services to prevent the saturation of server ports through proxy connections"). NordVPN itself lives up to the hype, but it's better to just use the Desktop version at the moment.

If your Firefox crash after NordVPN's April 2024 update, use the Task Manager to shutdown Firefox completely. Then press shift when you restart Firefox, you should be able to use Firefox without any extension enabled ( safe mode ). Disable NordVPN extension and restart Firefox, you should be able to use Firefox normaly for now.

Hello, I still can't use my dedicated IP address; only the Windows app offers it, along with Double VPN, Obfuscated, and Onion over VPN. The threat protection features are useless—they block some legitimate and secure websites. The ad blocker is ineffective; it simply doesn't work, so I've just disabled it. Split tunneling works well, but since Prime Video and Netflix detect VPNs, claiming that you can use a VPN to watch content from abroad is false and misleading. I've been fighting with this app for 3 years. 70% of the time it's completely useless and 30% of the time it works perfectly. The people who make this app are the most amateur developers in the world. In addition to the fact that it's so slow that most of the tabs don't open, many websites block it when it's on (not because of nordvpn IP). And what's extra irritating is the daily login. Very amateur team...

I've been using this plugin for 3 years, now less and less. It works perfectly in 30%, 70%completely useless. I have to turn it off many times because it is so slow that the content does not load.

some connections like bank are not working with VPN connection

The Firefox plugin slowed my internet speed down by over 90%. And I could not eclipse triple digit (mbps) download speed on a gig plan. I did everything that was suggested. Disabling HTTPS only mode, turning off DNS, and turning down my level of protection in terms of tracking protection. Same thing. Threat protection seems more like a gimmick than an actual feature for the extension. I cannot even connect to a Speedtest because of a 'socket' connection despite being able to identify a server. I am not sure what's going on, but I am not certain I'm going to stick around to find out if they fixed it.

About 3 months ago the extension went from great to absolutely bad. The extension functions, which means websites will load very slowly, when Firefox is first opened. 10 - 20 minutes later nothing will open and I get the same notice when the attempt times out; Secure Connection Failed, PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. After multiple attempts to correct this issue, the best fix I've discovered is turning off NordVPN. I've used NordVPN products on my devices for years. Fortunately, my current subscription expires in August and I'm going to do myself a favor and not renew.

What a horrid experience. Absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was a total waste of a hundred dollars plus a Private IP address that does not allow a simple Google search. Oh, if you are a software engineer or developer, I am sure it's great. For someone just wanting privacy and to stay out of the mainstream, forget it. They don't have time to help you with anything. They simply want your money. 26 pages of 1 STAR REVIEWS says it all. 26 pages of people hosed.

The add-on slows down my browser enormously. When it's on, it takes 10 seconds for the page to load, without it, not a second. It wasn't like this before. I had tried everything and reset Firefox, but it turns out that the NordVPN add-on slows everything down. So no recommendation from me. With my regular Nord app/subscription, I have no problems.

Everyone says it's fast but it takes 10 minutes to connect to a server and even then disconnects randomly or loses any connection at all, so the process repeats several times an hour.

The "Access your data for all websites" is set as optional, but you can't use the addon without giving them full access to my data across all website? Shoddy practice. Be mindful of this guys.

If you are not logged in, the extension keeps asking for the login and password, blocking me from using the browser. This will be reported to Mozilla too. It's insanely amateur.

About a month ago this extension suddenly stopped working. After contacting the support team, they were able to determine the cause, but replied that "we are unable to fix this problem" and abandoned any further work. I am still unable to use this extension to this day, which is very disappointing as I was a loyal user of this extension. I hope the developer will improve the extension as soon as possible and try to reduce the number of people like me.

I rarely use nordvpn but whenever i tried to use it via firefox extension it doesn't work, what a waste of money this service has been, I am cancelling my account and advise people reading this review to not waste your money on a vpn service that doesn't work.

Does not support containers so making NORD useless as a VPN! Unable to do Container as I can't just VPN a single container. Do not recommend this or their service anymore.

It's very useful but it often occurs that, after few minutes of normal working, suddlendly happens that it's impossibile continue browsing (all web sites unreachable, no connection, not possible restart any vpn tunneling). There's no way to restore the functionality. You can only restart the browser completely and the extension will restarts to work. This is the only way. Quite frustrating.

A great VPN. Lately I've had to log into it every time I open Firefox. It just logs me out every time the browser is closed. This started happening like 2 weeks ago and still no fix. If that issue weren't prominent, it would be 5 stars.

This extension does what you would expect, but the permissions required, especially 'access your data for all websites' is inappropriate and unnecessary.

Completely useless. At some point during a long session, you might get logged out or the plugin might reset, and suddenly you’re browsing with your real IP address on all open tabs. Even the “KillSwitch” feature doesn’t deliver what it promises. Which is, of course, completely unacceptable if, for example, you want to run an anonymous X account.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!! You say SOME features MAY require payment. In order for me to turn the extension on I have to pay for a subscription, and one that is decidedly NOT cheap, making the entire thing requiring payment!
